Scholarships

General Information

The Collingdale High School Alumni Association currently provides five scholarships.  Three of them are Collingdale High School Alumni Association Scholarships and the other two are privately funded, one in honor of Jean Garner Schreiber Oberg and one in honor of Donna Williams Faix.

 Eligible students are those attending Academy Park High School for at least three years, who also either reside in the Borough of Collingdale or have a parent or guardian who is an alum of Collingdale High School.  There are new rules as of 2015.  The information is more fully contained with the scholarship forms on this site.  The new rules include eligibility for descendants of CHS Alums not necessarily residing in Collingdale or attending Academy Park.

 

Collingdale High School Alumni Association Scholarship

Beginning in 1985 we have provided scholarships every year, currently awarding three scholarships totaling $4,000 each. These scholarships are funded by donations to the Scholarship Fund by Collingdale High School Alumni and friends.

Jean Garner Schreiber Oberg Memorial Scholarship

This privately funded scholarship was formed by the family of Jean Garner Schreiber Oberg.   Jean’s children are all Collingdale High School graduates (Bonnie ’68, Harry ’70, Bruce ’75, Sandy ’76) who were outstanding students and athletes.  The family formed this scholarship to benefit an outstanding student athlete from Academy Park.

 Donna Williams Faix Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was formed by the Donna Williams Faix Memorial Trust and honors 1965 graduate Donna Williams Faix, who died in an auto accident.
